Nanstallon Garden

The plan....the garden has several distinct areas which the clients wanted to unite with a cohesive plan for the whole garden.

This very steep drive was the access for vehicles to several derelict outbuildings and yard taking up half the garden.  The clients wanted turn the sloping drive into a terraced garden incorporated into the garden closest to the house.

During the build...

During the build looking back up the now terraced slope...

Before the build - part of the concrete yard area at the top of the drive....

After - a gravelled courtyard area with timber planters and pergola.  This links three areas together; the terraced space, the garden closest to the house and the garden on what was the old yard.

Before the build.

The old lawn and borders have been redesigned and shaped and are now connected to
the terraced garden and new paved terrace.

Before - The large concrete yard with greenhouse at one end...this will be the new terrace.

After the concrete and rubbish have been removed.

The concrete pad for the terrace...

The terrace with single space frame/pergola for climbers that also acts as an entrance to the space...

The view in the opposite direction....

Before the build - where the yard meets the remains of old buildings and uneven grassy area, with the shed in the background.

After - a new deck around the shed to provide a level surface around the building, and a barked vegetable garden with timber veg beds.

The greenhouse has a new level gravelled surface around for working access and raspberry beds sit in the new turf.

Planting day - around the new terrace....

The gravel garden at the top of the old drive....

This was an amazing transformation, I can't wait to see how it looks in a few months time.  Updates to follow in the spring....
