Looe Town Garden

This garden in Looe was a lovely space but had no colour or interest.  It had a bare lawn, some overgrown shrubs and a hedge....viewed from the clients' balcony above it was very boring...

The design had to provide colour and interest, smaller lawn space, give access to an existing shed, and deal with a significant level change...

During the build...

Following completion of the landscaping...what a complete transformation!

A central planting bed with a water bowl and water lily provide a real focal point to the garden...

Agapanthus are planted around the bowl...

Tumbled limestone sett edging defines the gravel paths and borders, as well as framing the new smaller lawns...

New borders wrap around and soften the existing patio's hard edge...

A new pergola with climbers provides interest to the existing steps that take you down to the gardens' lower level...

The existing laurel hedge was kept and pruned as it provides a lovely green backdrop to the garden...

To finish some lovely words from the clients' say it all...

"Our existing garden was drab and colourless.  We wanted a garden with colour, low maintenance and pleasing on the eye.  This is exactly what Sarah has given us.  We are delighted with all aspects of the garden.  Sarah has managed the whole project from design through to planting, with further advice for maintenance.  Thank you."

Stylish Minimalism

This is how a garden tucked away near Mount looked before it was transformed with a very stylish and contemporary, low maintenance design and planting plan....

It was cleared and completely re-landscaped, giving the clients lots of seating, and sunbathing space.

The existing walling and terraced levels were kept but remodelled and revamped.

The planting is designed to be low maintenance and in keeping with the garden's surroundings.

The planting scheme is designed to cope with sun and shade and includes several Acers.

Contemporary Plan for Devon Garden

Clients who moved from Looe to Devon have commissioned a design to be built alongside their contemporary house renovation.  The design covers all the garden space around the house.  The largest space being the front garden will become the main garden, with seating,  a raised planter which will screen off the drive, a sculptural wall, lawn and curving planting beds.  The planting will include grasses and perennials and architectural plants.
