Polzeath Garden, Late Summer

The planting for this garden was designed to reflect the coastal vegetation and thrive in the coastal conditions.

The planting includes grasses, santolina, ballota, nepeta and helichrysum, amongst others.

The artificial turf looks amazing - more than a match for those pesky rabbits!

The gently sloping path from the terrace down to the sunken patio.

The beautiful seat is in smooth curving slate.

The sunken circle provides a private and sheltered seating area.

Planting pockets soften the paving.

I love this colourful sedum thriving in the slate.
